Future Face Tattoo?
The Boston Celtics signed swingman Marquis Daniels to a one-year contract today. It is assumed that the Celtics signed him for the bi-annual exception, which is $1.99M this year. Back in June, the Indiana Pacers decided to not exercise their $7.5M team option on Daniels, which made him a free agent. I would not complain about making $1.99M, but losing out on an extra $5.5M has got to hurt.
This past year for the Pacers, Daniels had his best season of his career. He had career highs in points (13.6), rebounds (4.6), and minutes played per game (31.5), while shooting over 45% from the field.
While Daniels will be fighting with Rasheed Wallace for the most tattoos on the Celtics, he takes the cake for the most…ummm…original? According to The New York Times, Daniels has some of the following tattoos: a caricature of a man blowing his head off with a shotgun on his lower right arm, a detailed map of Florida covering his entire back, and Chinese characters on his left arm which were intended to represent his initials, but translate to English as “healthy woman roof”. I wish I was making this up.
At least he doesn’t have any face tattoos. Oh wait, I hope I didn’t give him any ideas.
